Advantages of Weston Galvanometer
A Weston Galvanometer has the following advantages:
1) Its coil is wound on a thin and light frame of Aluminium Alloy.
ii) There are hard steel pivots on either side of the frame which rest on bearings.
iii) The current is led into and out of the coil through two light hair springs.
iv) The hair springs are used to bring the coil to zero position.
v) The Aluminium pointer is attached to the frame which moves over a calibrated scale.
vi) It is very sensitive and even a very small amount of current produces appreciable deflection of the pointer.
