Different Numbering System
Points : Different Numbering System, Binary Number System, Decimal Number System, Octal Number System, Hexadecimal Number System
Binary Number System
Binary means two the binary system, therefore uses only two digits 0 and 1 and hence it is a base-two system. 1 means ON and 0 means’ OFF, The binary number system is used in the design of digital circuits.
Decimal Number System
In the decimal number each of the ten digits 0 to 9 represented a certain quantity the ten digits do nor limit us to expss
only ten different quantities, because we can used various digits in appropriate positions within a number to indicate the
magnitude of the quantity. The radix is 10.
Octal Number System
The octal number way to express binary numbers and codes and therefore much easier to work with So this number
system is used in computers and microprocessor to express binary quantities for input and output purposes.
The octal number system has a base or radix of 8, eight different symbols are used to presented numbers which are
0,1,2,3,4,5,6 and 7.
Hexadecimal Number System
Hexadecimal number are used extensively in microcomputer. They are much shorter than binary numbers This makes
them easy to write and remember. The hexadecimal number system has a base or radix of 16 sixteen different numbers
which are 0-9 ,A,B,C,D,E AND F.
