Conversion of Galvanometer Into Ammeter

Q. How will you convert a Galvanometer into an Ammeter and a Voltmeter?

Conversion of Galvanometer Into Ammeter
It is well known fact that Galvanometer can measure a very small quantity of current. For measuring a large amount of current we use Ammeter. As a matter of fact it is a modified form of Galvanometer. if we connect a suitable resistance in parallel with Galvanometer then it becomes an Ammeter. The resistance parallel to the coil of Galvanometer is known as shunt resistance and its value is very small. Ammeter is always connected in series.
