(i) Babul
Babul grows all over Pakistan. It is a close grained, tough and pale red-colored wood for tool handles and building work.

(ii) Chir
Chir found generally in hills, is a softer wood and suited for Interior work in houses.

(iii) Deodar
Deodar Is also found in hills. It is strong and durable and finds its use in house building and railway sleepers.

(iv) Kail
Kail grows in the Himalayas and yields a close-grained, moderately hard durable wood. It is used in the same way as deodar.

(v) Mango
Mango grows all over Pakistan. Being coarse and open grained, it is used as a cheap wood for doors and inferior furniture.

(vi) Mulberry
It is strong, tough and elastic wood. It is used for making tennis and badminton rackets, hockey sticks, bats and other sports goods.

(vii) Teak
Teak is a strong and durable wood and takes a smooth polish. It is mostly used for furniture.

(viii) Tun
Tun is light, close grained wood and takes a smooth polish. It is also suitable for furniture.

(ix) Shisham
Shisham is dark brown in color with well marked coarse grains. It Is very strong and is mostly used for furniture, house building, carriages and bridge piles.

(x) Sal
Sal is hard, close grained, heavy and durable wood. White ants do not harm it. It is used for railway sleepers, bridges, house building and ship building.

(xi) Mohogony
Mohogony has straight grains and red brown color. It is very durable when dry. It contains some oil which prevents the attack of insects. It is used for cabinet work, fine furniture and ship building.
