But sometimes it becomes necessary to consider one or two predominating factors only which are important from the point of view of application of the wood for a specific use. however, the factors governing the selection of a good include durability, hardness, density, elasticity and types of wood grains along with their texture. Sometimes properties like resistance against shock, shear, fire and suitability for pushing arc also considered.
