Machine
A Machine is a device by means of which useful work can be performed conveniently and it can also transfer one form of energy into another form.
Purpose of Machine
A machine is used for the following purposes:
1) To transfer Force
2) To enlarge the magnitude of Force or to Lift Heavy Load by applying a small Force
3) To change the speed of Work.
4) To change the Direction of Force.
