To KMC about insanitary condition of your city

The Director of Health,
Karachi Metropolitan Corporation,
Karachi.
Dear Sir,
I take this opportunity to bring to your notice the insanitary condition of the city. The sweepers of KMC who are required to sweep the roads, Streets and lanes do not attend to their duties and the area sanitary inspectors never care to visit their areas and see the condition of sanitation. The sweepers of the corporation charge rupees 30 to 50 per house to collect garbage from houses and to dispose off’. But they throw these mucks, garbages, trashes and refuses at various places in the mohalla which give out obnoxious stink and odiously nasty odor. On the heaps of these wastes flies breed and have become a menace for the citizens.
One can find no road, Street or lane clean. Everywhere there is defilement, abominations, wastes, rubbishes, or litters lying on the streets and lanes on which thousand of flies sit arid it appears as it’ black blankets have been spread here and there.
In every lane and street, one can find overflowing gutters with sewage water containing stinking faces and shit, spreading diseases and giving out an odiously obnoxious stink. Running car, rickshaw and motor cycles splash the water on the passers by, soiling their clothes awl body. This dirty water stagnates at places making breeding grounds for mosquitoes which also become menace. Complaints lodged at the KMC offices prove futile as the sweepers do not clean a single stuck up gutter hole unless they are handsomely paid by the people residing around the gutter.
Will you, please, look into the matter and take appropriate steps to redress the situation.
Yours faithfully,
Lubna Saghir Khan
