My dear Asif,
I am just in receipt of your letter. My joy knows no bounds at your brilliant success at the S.S.C. examination.
I did not expect so much of you. Nobody knows what merits may be latent in one.
Asif, you will soon enter into a new phase of life. College life is quite different from the school life. It is interesting and joyous. The college life is rightly called the golden period of one’s life. College is a proper place to get proper education and training. It helps one to be a perfect man. It also helps one to grow his own personality it teaches us discipline, manners and etiquette. Here’ one is more free the relation between the teacher and taught is more cordial. One is free to express his ideas.
Remember, you have responsibilities too. You should respect your teachers. Good behavior is the sign of good breeding. It costs nothing, but earns a good deal. Be regular in attending your classes. By all means, take part in innocent entertainments and healthy amusements in your leisure hours: but do not forget that studies always come first. Keep yourself away from the bad company. If you waste these precious years, you will never have a chance to acquire the blessing of knowledge. Be, therefore, very careful from now.
Hope this finds you quite well.
Yours affectionately,
XYZ
