Input and Output devices and differentiate between them

Input and Output devices and differentiate between them Points : input and output devices and differentiate between them, explain two input and output devices, types of monitors, general purpose monitors, advanced purpose monitors, special purpose monitors, write the names of commonly used input and output devices and briefly describe the fractions of these devices, keyboard, mouse, track ball, light pen, joy stick, touch screen, magnetic ink reader, optical character read (ocr), scanner, voice synthesizer, some commonly used output devices are as follows, monitors, printers, plotter, computer output on micro film (com) Input Device The devices which is used to feed data and information into the computer are called Input Devices. Output Devices The devices which are used to give the result to the outer world of the computer are called Output Devices.
Differentiate between Input and Output devices
Input Device
Output Devices
1.The devices which are used to feed data and information into the computer are called input. The devices as which are used to give the result to the order world of the computer are called output devices.
2.Input devices convert what people understood to what computer understand.Output devices do the reverse; they convert machine language into that language which people can understand.
3.There are two kinds of Input Hardware. i.e. a. Keyboard devices b. Non-keyboard or direct entry devicesThere are two types of output devices. i.e. a. Soft Copy Output device b. Hard Copy Output device
4.The most commonly used input devices are Keyboard and Mouse,The most commonly used output devices are monitor and printer.
Explain two Input and Output devices Input Devices Key Board: Key board is a device which is used to feed data into the computer. It is like a typewriter. Types XT Keyboard (Extended Technology Keyboard)
AT Keyboard (Advanced Technology Keyboard) (c) Enhanced Keyboard
Division of Keyboard Standard design of keyboard is same just as the typewriter. Keyboard is divided into four types of keypads.
i.Alphanumeric Key Pad
ii.Numeric Key Pad
iii.Function Key Pad
iv.Special Function Key Pad
Mouse The mouse is an input device called a “Pointing Device”. It is connected with CPU by a wire, mouse is used to select various options or to draw lines. It has two buttons on its front unit and a small ball at its bottom. Mouse is placed on a flat rubber pad. When mouse is moved the ball moves and an arrow or cursor also moves on the screen in the direction of mouse movement. Mouse is helpful to move the cursor quickly around the screen. Inside the mouse the ball has two cylinder on its two sides when the ball moves it presses these cylinders which use LED (Light Emitting Decode) technique to give signal to the computer. The mouse can be useful when working, with word processing editing program, graphic program etc. The mouse is easier and faster to use than the keys on the keyboard. Output Devices Monitor To display result or output from computer, a TV like screen is used which is called Monitor. It is also named as CRT (Cathode Ray Tube), Screen VDT (Video Display Terminal) and VDU (Video Display Unit). They give soft copy of information or result while Inputting data, monitor help us in displaying the data so that correct data can be feed. It also display all normal and errors messages. Different sizes and different quality Monitors are available in the market. Types of Monitors: Monitors are available into two major types.
Monochrome
Colour
Monitors are divided into three types according to their purpose.
General Purpose Monitors: They have CGA, HGA, FGA, VGA and SVGA system for normal business and personal applications. Advanced Purpose Monitors They have PGA, TIGA and XGA for scientific and graphical business applications. Special Purpose Monitors They are developed for special purpose having ability to display A4 and A3 size used for publishing business. Printers A printer is an output device having following characteristics.
It gives permanent hard copy of information on paper.
It receives information from computer and prints its on paper.
It accepts many signals from computer, used to control the printer.
Now colour printers are also available in the market to get coloured output.
Printers are divided into two types.
i. Non - Impact Printers
ii. Impact Printers
Commonly Used Input And Output Devices There are many Input devices of computer some of them are as follows:
i. Keyboard
ii. Mouse
iii. Track ball
iv. Light Pen
v. Joy sticks
vi. Magnetic Ink Recorder (MIR)
vii. Optical Character Read (OCR)
viii. Scanners
ix. Voice synthesizer
x. Barcode reader
i. Keyboard Key board is a device which is used to feed data into the computer. It is like a type writer. ii. Mouse: Mouse is an input device which is used to select various options or to draw lines. iii. Track Ball A track ball is a pointing device. The function of a track ball is same as of mouse. It is guided by the fingers instead of rolling on the desktop. iv. Light Pen: Light Pen is used in engineering designing. We can draw fine quality pictures with the help of light pen. v. Joy Stick: A joy stick is an input device used only to play computer games. It controls the movement of a certain object on the screen. vi. Touch Screen It is a computer screen that accepts input data by letting the user point at the screen to select a choice. vii. Magnetic Ink Reader: In (MIR) the data is written in specified character set by magnetic ink and the computer has given the ability to read it. viii. Optical Character Read (OCR) Optical character recognition devices are designed to read sheets of paper, cards, books or journal tapes. ix. Scanner A scanner convert graphics and pictorial data to digital (binary) form which can be directly feeded (stored) in computers. x. Voice Synthesizer It is the latest input device in which data is input by actual talking to the computer. Output Devices Output devices are those which convert computer signals into a form that can be understood by the users. Some commonly used output devices are as follows i. Monitors
ii. Printers
iii. Plotters
iv. Computer Output on Micro film (COM)
i. Monitors To display results or output from computer, a TV like screen is used which is called Monitor. ii. Printers: A printer is an output device which is used to gives permanent hard copy of information on paper. iii. Plotter: Plotters are very special type of printing output devices which are used where output is in the diagrammatic form. iv. Computer Output on Micro Film (COM): it is a latest output technique to hold a huge data on at very small space It gives fastest output on film whose maintaining is expensive. It can give graphic output.
