Fuse
If we switch on many electric appliances simultaneously a heavy current will flow in the circuit through the meter which is likely to damage it. Sometimes due to our lawlessness and some faults in the wiring, the live wire and neutral wire touch each other. In such case a heavy current flows in the circuit which may either damage the metre or set the building on fe. Under these conditions fuse wire helps us as it can not hear a heavy current. As the fuse wire is joined in series. So whenever the current exceeds its safety limit, the fuse wire melts and breaks the circuit. In this way the, current stops flowing in the circuit.
