Achievements of Muhammad Bin Musa Al-Khwarzmi in Science
Muhammad Bin Musa Ai-Khwarzmi was born at Khawarzm in 780 A.D. He was an important member of the great institution the Bait-ul-Hikmat established by the great Abbasid Caliph Mnun-ur-Rashid.
Main Contributions
1. Al-Khawarzmi is considered to be the founder of Algebra.
2. He wrote the famous book Algabra-wa-Al-Muqabla.
3. He introduced the method of counting based on numeals and the decimal system which made the arithmetical operations easy and simple.
4. He used geometrical constructions for the first time for solving various algebraic problems
5. He also introduced the logarithm.
6. He gave the methods to solve quadratic and linear equations.
