Q.1. Explain the following.
i) Electrostatic Attraction
ii) Electrostatics
iii) Electrostatic Repulsion
i) Electrostatic Attraction
if a glass rod is rubbed with silk and ebonite rod is rubbed with fur or flannel then both acquire a peculiar property of attracting light bodies e.g. small pieces of papers, straw. This phenomenon is called Electrostatic Attraction.
ii) Electro Statics
The body which loses electrons is considered as “Positively charged” and the body which gains electrons is regarded as negatively charged. The behavior of charges at rest is called Electrostatics.
iii) Electrostatic Repulsion
If two charged glass rods or two ebonite rods are brought near to one another, they will repel each other. This repulsion is called Electrostatic Repulsion.
