Electric Field
Suppose a charged body is kept at a place and a second charged body is brought near to it, then it is observed that second charge will experience a force of attract ion or repulsion depending upon the polarity of the charge. If second charged body is gradually moved away from the first, so the force of attraction or repulsion decreases till at a certain distance it becomes zero. This distance around a charged body fixes the region up to which the force of ‘attraction or repulsion of the first charged body will be effective. This space around a charged body is called Electric Field.
