Electrostatic Induction

Q. What do you understand by Electrostatic Induction? Explain.

Electrostatic Induction
Suppose a positively charged conductor A is near an insulated conduct or BC. We N observe that the end B becomes negatively charged and the end C positively charged. The charges at B and C are called Induced Charges. The charge on A is called the inducing charges. The appearance of two opposite induced charges in a conductor under the influence of a charged conductor is called Electrostatic Induction.
