Q Write down the construction and working of Hydraulic Press (BRMIAH'S PRESS).
Hydraulic Press ( Bramah's Press)
Hydraulic Press is an important application of Pascal’s Law and it was invented by Bramah in 1795.
It has two Cylinders P’ and ‘Q’ of unequal diameter connected by a tube “T”. The piston P is worked by a lever and is known as Plump Plunger”. The bigger piston “Q” is called Press Plunger. It is connected to a platform “P” which moves in the frame “F”. The area of the “Press Plunger” is larger than the area of the “Pump Plunger”. A small force applied on “P” lifts “Q” with a large force because the water transfers pressure equally in all directions.
