20th century has gone and 21st century has just arrived with new challenges and trials. The greatest challenges that Pakistan is facing are the expansion of population, unemployment and pollution. The rate with which the population is increasing is quite alarming, because our resources are not increasing with the increases in population. All the campaigns and programmes to restrict the growth are going in vain, for people are illiterate. They fail to foresee the coming danger that is going to engulf all. It has been estimated that in few decades, if the rate of population growth is not slowed down, the total population will be twice which will create a struggle for survival because of lack of basic necessities. Another challenge that Pakistan has to face in the current century is unemployment. The number of, unemployed people in any country reflect the standard of living of that country. There are a great number of skilled and educated people who are running to and fro to get their bread and buffer and are disappointed everywhere.
Government should collect the data of such people and arrange certain programmes to utilize the talent of these people in a positive way. Self-finance schemes in this regard are note worthy but providing loans to people with out guidance has not given sufficient results.educationsight.blogspot.com Moreover challenges are not over at this stage as science has facilitated human life a great deal, but the way it has destroyed the simplicity and beauty of nature is unpardonable. The most challenging task of 21st century is to overcome the monster of pollution and provide people a clean and fresh atmosphere.
The awareness of the curse of pollution should be given from school level and live activities should be performed at schools so that a united struggle will begin against it. In fact, problems are numerous and resources are limited so it is wise to make national preferences and then design a long-term plan with a dead line to overcome all these problems. That is only way out to counter the challenges of the 21 St century with pride.
