My Dear Father,

I received your kind letter yesterday. I was so pleased to read it that I cannot express my feelings in words. You will be also glad that I have passed my Matriculation Examination with “A Grade”. Now I am in First Year and I have to pay college fee and hostel fee for two months.

Moreover, I have to buy new books and note-books for the new class and a copy of Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary by AS. Horn by and a college uniform, and a pair of shoes.

So, kindly send me at least Rs. 3000/- for all these expenses by telegraphic money-order. I assure you that I will make the best use of every single penny. Please pay my respect to dear mother and love to Bono.
