In our times war has become more deadly and dangerous than ever. Now war between two countries does not mean war between two armies alone. The distinction between soldiers and civilians has disappeared. The old weapons of war, the swords, spears and small guns have been replaced by bombs, tanks and heavy artillery. Then there are bomber planes, rockets, and missiles. These can attack and destroy targets hundreds of miles away. That is why no place is today safe in war. Now war is not coz fined to the actual battlefront. Your enemy may send his bombers to hit and destroy your villages and cities. He will try to bomb your railways and factories. In these circumstances, the need for extensive civil defence training becomes necessary.
We have recently gone through a war.. The experience should make us wiser. Our enemy may attack us again. We should be prepared for the worst. Among other thing we should also see that every Pakistani is fully trained in the field of civil defence.educationsight.blogspot.com The need is urgent and we must pay immediate attention to it. It is a well known reality that the morale of a nation is its most important asses in war. Indeed it may become the deciding factor. No doubt ours is a brave nation. We have glorious traditions. We are not afraid of death in the defence of our country. But we should be taught how to defend our country. All the people cannot join the army. Most of us must work in the villages and cities of our motherland. And we must be able to serve and defend our country wherever we are.
We must realize that the honor of defending our country is not the privilege of a few. It is a duty and an honour that should belong to everyone. If everyone cannot go to the battlefield, he should at least be given the opportunity of being useful. This can be done if compulsory civil defence training is imparted to all.
