The Jackal and the Camel
Short Story on "The Jackal and the Camel"
Once, a jackal and the camel lived in a forest. They were fast friends. One day the jackal proposed to go across the river to a melons field to eat sweet melons. The camel agreed.
They crossed the river while the camel was carrying the jackal on his back. Soon they entered the field and began to eat melons.
The jackal began to howl loudly. The camel implored on him to be silent but he replied that it was his habit to sing after a hearty meal. In the mean while the farmer, on hearing the howl, came running with a stout club in his hand and gave the camel a horrible beating while the jackal was enjoying himself with this funny sight from behind a bush.
When the camel was running towards the river the jackal jumped onto his back. As soon as they reached in the middle of the river the camel sat there saying. “After having a beating it is my habit to enjoy a swim” The jackal cried much but to no avail soon he drowned in the water.
Moral:As you sow, so shall you reap.
